Ohio Township Association 2012 Scholarship Application

History

The Ohio Township Association (OTA) began offering scholarships in 2005, after a generous donation from a past board member Paul Smith, ans his wife Ethel.  The scholarships are continually funded by donations from county township associations, personal donations and a percentage of OTA merchandise sold.

Three scholarships, in the amount of $1,500.00 each, are awarded annually.  Scholarships are given in two categories:  Local Government Achievement and Academic Achievement.

Applicants must be high school seniors, reside in one of Ohio's 1,308 townships and must plan to attend a two or four-year Ohio college or university.  Requirements included a completed application, 500-word essay, high school transcript and two letters of recommendation.

Muskingum University administers the OTA scholarship program.  Applications must be postmarked by January 27, 2012.  Finalists will be notified by March 30 and winners awarde will be announced May 1.
