Cemetery Rules are posted at all three cemeteries. Complete rules and regulations are available at the Town Hall. The funeral director will contact the sexton of a funeral, its date and time.
- The cemetery is maintained by the service department. All lawns are mowed by a private contractor.
- In an attempt to preserve the Cemeteries, protect all visitors, maintenance crew from accidents, we request that no holes be dug on or near gravesite. Mowing and/or weed whacking of individual grave sites is not permitted. Metal stakes, glass vases and wire should not be used for decorations or ornaments on the grave site.
- Plastic and/or silk flowers may be used during the cold months of the year if placed in suitable containers.
- Glass containers are strictly forbidden and will be removed where found. Also any other substance considered hazardous will also be removed.
- Poinsettia flowers, wreaths, and small seasonal decorations are welcome from November 15 to February 29th. Due to safety considerations, grave blankets are not to be used. If you wish to save your decorations for another year's use, please arrange to have them picked up. After the 29th of February, the decorations will be removed by the Township.
- Potted plants, cut flowers and arrangements are encouraged on Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Memorial Day. Plants placed on graves should be removed within sixty (60) days of the holiday if you wish to save them. After that period, plants will be removed by our service department. Shepherd hooks, monument saddles, will be permitted. The planting of flowers may not exceed 12" from headstone. The planting of trees, shrubs and bushes will not be permitted.
- The maintenance of planted, flowers boxes, cut live, and artificial flowers or wreaths are permitted throughout the year, The maintenance of planted beds or grave is the responsible of the lot owner or family. Any not so maintained, which become overgrown and/or unsightly, will be removed without notice.
- We would like to make aware that any decoration used on the gravesite may be subject to the elements and vandalism. The township cannot be held responsible for such damage or theft.
- Lot enclosure of concrete block, wood, stone, metal, and plastic are permitted within the headstone. The enclosure may not exceed 12" from headstone.
- The cemetery doesn't allow elevated graves bordered with sod. All flower beds must be in front of headstones. No flower beds behind headstones.
