Hinckley Outreach - Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Throughout the year the Hinckley Outreach program serves local residents in times of family tragedy and need.  This holiday season is a wonderful time for those Hinckley residents who are benefited with good fortune to share their blessings with neighbors who may be facing short-term financial difficulties.  Over the past eighteen years the program has reached out to provide necessities such as essential utility bill payments, meals, shelter and transportation to help resident's bridge the gap during financial and emotional hardships.  The holiday season is an especially difficult time for struggling individuals and families and at this time of year the program works to provide a bit of relief from the pressures of making ends meet by assisting in holiday meals as well as making sure each child has a special gift under the tree.

Please contact the organization if you or someone you know is in need of assistance.  We especially want to reach out to families with children and assure that all have a visit from Santa this year.  All inquiries will remain confidential, though there will be further inquiry by Hinckley Outreach to verify need.  Hinckley Outreach can be contacted by phone 330-416-3629 or 330-421-4262 or via an e-mail address, [email protected]

Hinckley Outreach began in 1994 by Hinckley resident John Buck (now deceased) and former Hinckley Police Department Lieutenant Virginia Yates in response to a number of requests at both the Our Saviour Lutheran Church (where Buck was a member) and the Hinckley Police Department.  Currently the program is administered through a Board which includes Hinckley residents Rich Rhodes and Peggy Cadnum, Firefighter Dan Landis, OSLC Pastor Scott Silcox, Our Lady of Grace Pastor Joseph Mecir, Hinckley Police Chief Tim Kalavsky, Fiscal Officer Colleen Swedyk, Highland Library Manager Diane Dermody, and Trustee Martha Catherwood.  Feel free to contact any of the board members with further questions.

Donations to the program are accepted throughout the year by mail to: Hinckley Outreach, Post Office Box 331, Hinckley, OH 44233 or in person at the Fifth Third Hinckley Branch located at 1565 Center Road in Hinckley located directly across from the Hinckely Elementary School.  Cash donations and non-perishable food items are also accepted at the Our Saviour Lutheran Church and Our Lady of Grace Church food pantries.

We extend the entire Hinckley community a blessed holiday season and offer our sincere thanks to those who have been so generous throughout the year.
